BY AND FOR • Central to District 202's mission is the concept of "by and for." This means that the center is defined by youth. All decisions regarding house rules, programs and policies internal to the center are decided at youth community meetings by a majority rule youth-vote. While District 202 provides every opportunity possible for youth to define and have leadership in the center, District 202 also recognizes the resources and experiences adults bring to the table. Adults serve important roles as center volunteers, mentors, committee and board members.

MISSION • District 202 is a nonprofit youth community center committed to providing social, cultural and educational opportunities by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) youth and their friends.

GOALS Since its establishment, there have been two primary goals at District 202:
1) To develop a sexual minority youth community that provides social, cultural and leadership opportunities.
2) To provide systems change education to communities at large, resulting in the normalization of sexual minority youth and inclusive environments.
